PBEO Job Fair Registration Now Available Onsite Only
Advance registration for the Job Fair has ended.  Onsite registration will begin in Nashville at the Governor's Registration Counter in the Gaylord Opryland Resort beginning at 7:30 am on Sunday, December 2nd.

If you have not already registered for the Job Fair, you may use the Onsite Registration Form to help speed up the process in Nashville.  Please download and complete the form and bring it with you to our registration counter.

 

If you registered for the Job Fair in advanced, your registration materials were sent out last Friday, 11/16, via USPS Priority Mail (2-3 days). 

 

If you reserved a room through us for the Radisson, your confirmation number will be mailed to the address listed in your profile.

 

Housing Note: The state of Tennessee has passed legislation increasing the local occupancy tax in Nashville, TN.

The new taxes include a 1 percent increase of the hotel/motel tax and a $2 flat tax per occupied hotel room per night.

At this time you have sent in a one (1) night deposit for each requested room through the 2007 Baseball Winter Meetings Housing Office. These additional fees will be collected from your assigned hotel upon your arrival.

Description: The Game Operations Assistant position will report directly to the Client Services Manager. This position is a part-time, seasonal position (normally May 15th and ending September 15th).

The Game Operations Assistant will:

1) Assist the Entertainment & Production Manager to recruit, hire, train and manage the gameday entertainment and production staff. Will be responsible for the oversight of the following subordinates in the sales department:
a. Gameday Promo Staff.
b. Gameday Press Box Entertainment Staff.

2) Recruit, hire, train and manage the gameday staff with the assistance of the Client Services Manager.

3) Responsible in the oversight of the gameday promotions and overall stadium production, which includes but is not limited to the following:
a. Creation of an entertaining atmosphere for the stadium guests via the on-field and in-between inning promotions.
b. Work in conjunction with the sponsorship sales staff to fulfill contractual obligations within the framework of the on-field promotions.
c. Write a promotional outline for every game and homestand for presentation to the front office and gameday staff.
d. Oversee the nightly promotional schedule which includes in-between inning promos, post-game features, etc.
e. Responsible for the writing of the nightly P.A. script.
f. Oversee the stadium music systems which includes music selections and integration with the P.A. script/on-field promos.

4) Assist the Director of Sales & Marketing and Client Services Manager in the sponsorship sales operations, which includes but is not limited to the following:
a. Assist in the production of all signage, print and radio spots.
b. Assist in the production of post-season reports to be distributed to all advertisers (August through September).

5) Assist the Merchandise Manager in the following:
a. Store set-up and merchandising.
b. Pricing of items.
c. Inventory controls.
d. Will occasionally oversee store operations when necessary.

6) Will handle all mail and on-line merchandise orders. This includes but is not limited to, pulling merchandise to mail, packaging and shipping items via company approved mail options.

7) Assist the Client Services Manager in providing a budget and capital expense “wish list” to the Director of Sales & Marketing on items that pertain to employee’s scope of responsibility prior to August 10th of every calendar year.

8) Comply with corporate policies and procedures on all spending, purchase orders and vendor agreements.

9) Participate in any relevant marketing training assigned by the Director of Marketing or requested training that pertains to areas outside of the scope of responsibility if so assigned.

10) Be a leader in customer service.

11) Work as a member of a TEAM, and have fun!

12) Other duties as determined by the President/General Manager or Client Services Manager.

3. Works closely with the General Manager and other members of the front office to ensure that all elements included in each agreement are delivered in a first class manner in accordance with the provisions of the corporate partnership agreement.
4. Prepares weekly sales reports.
5. Works closely with other departments within the organization on day-to-day tasks of Ticket Sales, Gameday Operations, Public Relations, Media Relations, Merchandise, Baseball Operations and Stadium Operations.
6. Work closely with other team personnel to set up season long and daily in-game promotions, along with handling the on-field emcee duties during games. 7. Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing or related discipline.

    Description: Daily pre-game duties include: Day-to-day update of Game Notes. When team is at home: compilation/printing of stat packs and obtaining starting lineups.
    Production: The coordinator helps with all broadcast production, including commercials, promotional spots and game intros and outros. Production is usually limited to radio broadcasts, but may also include production for stadium audio and promotional videos.

    On-Air duties, at home, include: The pre-game show. The coordinator will be responsible for the entire home pre-game show. Three innings play-by-play. Updating scores. The coordinator will be on-air the entire game, providing commentary during non pxp innings. Recording a post-game interview for home games only. Post-game scoreboard.

    Post-game duties include: Sending reports to the post-game list of the Tourists and opponent. Helping to write the game recap for the Web site. Help attend to the needs of the media. Closing the press box after the media has finished.

    Non-broadcast (when team on road): The coordinator will have several duties not directly associated with the game broadcasts. These duties include, but are not limited to writing features for the Tourists Web site and updating pertinent areas of the site. Tarp duty. Sales when team is on the road, including promotional nights, ticket window and group sales.

    Requirements: A modest amount of on-air experience is required, usually with a minimum of college baseball broadcasting. Applicants must be familiar with the basics of audio production; Familiarity with Adobe Audition (Cool Edit Pro) a plus. Applicants must be familiar with basic style and grammar for both print and broadcast. Basic skills in Word, Excel and Outlook are necessary. Additional experience is preferred, though not required, in Photoshop, Adobe. A strong command of the English language is a must.

A half million dollar field renovation was completed in the fall of 2006 installing Kentucky Bluegrass on a sand-capped field.
    Requirements: The candidate for this position should be someone seeking a two- or four-year degree in turf management or a related agronomy field. - Responsible for cash receipts; including the processing of credit card transactions
- Maintain required records, reports, and files in an organized manner.

Operations Assistant Job Duties:

Promotions:

1) Assist in the execution of activities within the JetHawks promotions department, including all game day promotions and set-up of all necessary promotions areas for all events at Clear Channel Stadium (i.e. Fun Zone inflatable games, on-field props, etc).
2) Assist in the development of game day scripts and outlines for each JetHawks game.
3) Ensure all necessary promotions props, give away items or other related items are properly maintained and ready for each home game.
4) Oversee the organization and clean-up of all promotions storage areas throughout the stadium.
5) Ensure completion of all participant waivers and necessary filing prior to, during and after all JetHawks home games.
6) Coordinate with the PA announcer, video wall announcer and producer and information booth personnel to ensure all personnel have necessary scripts, statistics and other information related to each home game.
7) Ensure all proper promotions sign-up boxes and information booth materials are in place for each home game.
8) Assist all game day sponsors in the placement of banners, booths or other materials throughout the stadium.
9) Gain an understanding of the operation of the video wall, public address system and video camera operations.
10) Participate in the scheduling and coordination of the team’s official mascot and player appearances and events.

Marketing & Sponsorships:

11) Assist in the execution of all sponsorship and ticket accounts, including, ensuring all details are accounted for with each account.
12) Assist in the coordination of all sponsor files, ensuring that all materials related to proof of performance recognition packets is accounted for and filed properly.
13) Assist in the production of sponsor proof of performances, including, composing and putting together proof of performance packets.
14) Assist with grassroots marketing in surrounding areas

Ticket Operations:

15) Assist in the delivery of game tickets to groups.
16) Take and process advance ticket orders.
17) Assist in the oversight of the JetHawks box office.

Ticket Sales:

18) Assist in making sales calls from generated leads lists.
19) Make sales calls for major theme nights (i.e. Faith Night, Scout Nights, Day Camp Days).
20) Assist in the creation of leads lists to be used for sales calls.
Requirements: The Operations Assistant must have superior organizational and time management skills. The Operations Assistant should have strong communication and organizational skills. The Operations Assistant should be able to be employed by the Lancaster JetHawks from approximately March 15 – September 15, 2008 The Operations Assistant understands and is willing to work several days consecutively during the summer months when events take place at Clear Channel Stadium. Compensation: The Operations Assistant will receive college credit for the work experience gained during the time with the Lancaster JetHawks. The Operations Assistant will receive housing at no cost during the time he/she is working for the JetHawks. Housing will consist of a fully-furnished two-bedroom apartment located in Lancaster. Requirements:
• Four-year undergraduate degree in business, marketing or a related field
• Documented sports sales experience (minimum of 5 years) with a professional sports team required;
• Knowledge of and experience with promotional sales, corporate sponsorships, advertising, marketing and special events;
• Creative mind capable of developing innovative and unique promotions;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as have experience giving public and/or group presentations;
• Strong prospecting skills, detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize goals;
• Strong leadership and organizational skills;
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office;
• Must be willing to work extended hours including weekends and holidays.
