About PBEO
What is PBEO?
Professional Baseball Employment Opportunities™ (PBEO®) is the official
employment service of Minor League Baseball™, the governing body of The Minor
Leagues™.
The PBEO program was established in 1994 to continue Minor League Baseball's
efforts to provide a year-round placement service to their member clubs and to
Major League Baseball. When a club needs an employee, the club may contact PBEO,
via PBEO.com, to search for résumés of all qualified registrants in the
databank. The period from September through February is when most personnel
changes occur.
Registered PBEO applicants are placed in the databank according to their
areas of interest, geographical preference and availability. An annual
membership in the PBEO databank is $50. Membership also includes monthly
eNewsletters, auto-notification of new job openings, articles from member clubs,
career tips and information on upcoming job fairs and events.
Baseball Winter Meetings & Job Fair
Minor League Baseball hosts the annual Baseball Winter Meetings™, a December
convention for those involved in all levels of professional baseball. The
meetings include the
Baseball Trade Show™ where products that will fill
concession stands and equipment that will be used on the field are displayed.
The PBEO Job Fair™ is held in conjunction with the
Baseball Winter Meetings.
It is an excellent opportunity to find employment and provides attendees with
valuable insights into the business of professional baseball. On average,
350-450 jobs are posted at the Job Fair annually.
Many of these opportunities are entry level positions or internships. Some
others are for those with baseball experience or a related background looking
for the next challenge. The majority of clubs will hire for positions beginning
in January 2014. Therefore it’s preferable for college students attending to
have graduated by December 2013. PBEO will also hold a reception for PBEO
attendees and club reps. This will give the opportunity for club reps and PBEO
attendees to meet and break the ice before the upcoming interview process. For
